The sun conure (Aratinga solstitialis), also known as the sun parakeet, is a medium-sized parrot with strikingly vibrant colours, native to northeastern South America. Adult males and females look alike, both featuring black beaks, mostly golden-yellow plumage, orange-tinted underparts and faces, and wings and tails tipped in green and blue.

I hired a boat on Lake Argyle in Western Australia recently, and along with the many fresh water crocodiles along the shores, there were many birds of prey soaring above me, including Whistling Kites, but the one that caught my eye the most was this magnificent White-Bellied Sea Eagle.
