Jacky Winter

The Jacky Winter is a small bird native to Australia, typically found in woodland and forest habitats. At Coorongooba Campground they will be with almost always during your camping time, and are not afraid to get very close.

Given how close they get, it does allow you to completely blur the background with lower aperture settings.

If you’re lucky, you may also be able to capture the Jacky Winter in flight. (Good Luck!) These birds are quick and agile, darting around in short, erratic bursts. Try to anticipate their movements and adjust your camera settings accordingly to capture their movements. If you have tie down ropes in camp, they will come and sit on them, providing a great opportunity to start shooting.
