Ormiston Gorge

Ormiston Gorge is a picturesque natural formation located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is part of the West MacDonnell Ranges and is known for its stunning red rock walls, waterholes, and scenic walking trails. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the cool waters of the gorge and exploring the surrounding desert landscape, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

On a visit in April 2023, I arrived at Glen Helen, just in time for the Cyclone to pass over Western Australia and head inland directly at us. While it had run out of puff by the time it made it to us, it brought rain with it so there was little to do but wait it out. I did however venture out to Ormiston Gorge in between the rain drops to get this image.
