The Eclectus Parrot is one of the most visually striking parrots, best known for the dramatic difference between the sexes: males are vivid green, while females are rich red with blue or purple tones.
Native to rainforest regions including northern Australia, New Guinea and nearby islands, they are intelligent, vocal birds that feed mainly on fruit, seeds, blossoms and vegetation. Their bold colours, calm presence and unusual male-female contrast make them one of the most distinctive parrots in the world.
